The K&O outboards were packaged in boxes that looked exactly like the boxes that the real outboards were crated in.  Later, the smaller toy outboards like the 1959 Scott 25 HP and the 1958 Evinrude and Johnson motors were packaged in more colorful boxes.  My goal in this category is not to picture every box ever made but rather give a taste of what they looked like.  If collectors would like me to include all the boxes I will do so, with help from other collectors since I don't have all the boxes.

2. 1958 Johnson 35 HP and 50 HP.  Note the colorful box for the small motors.  This one is faded.  The other box is for the Port Hole motor.

4. 1956 Scott-Atwater 33 HP and 1957 and 1958 Scott-Atwater 40 HP Boxes. The same box was used for the 1957 and 1958 Scott-Atwater 40 HP motors.  The box picture is of the 1957.  K&O also made a 30 HP box, noticed it blacked out and the 33 HP put on, but no 30 HP motor was made.  K&O was probably going to make the 1955 Scott 30 HP but didn't get it into production in time.  Thanks to Joe Cain for the box pictures!

5. Allyn Sea Fury box. The Sea Fury came in at least two different boxes.  In the first box style, notice the see through window so you can see the motor.  The second one is a little more plain looking with a cut out for the motor.  I think this is the older version but I'm not sure.

K&O Reproduction Boxes:  A great reproduction box that fits most of the full scale K&O motors.  The quality is excellent and really adds to the look and appearance of your motor.  These boxes won't work with the wider K&O V-4 motors.  For those motors use the larger boxes below.  The real boxes are very expensive, sometimes going for more than $100 by themselves.  Joe's prices are very, very low.  Contact him for more details at: joe@toyoutboard.com

Prices when I put this page together: $2.99 each plus shipping!  Now, that's cheap!!!
